Suya Spice Rub

Suya Spice Rub

Regular price $19.95

Unit price per

The spice blend behind the skewers everyone asks about. Suya is the classic West African street food rub, smoky, nutty and warm, and our Suya Spice Rub is made in Australia to a family recipe with a modern twist.

Traditional on meat, brilliant on everything. Rub it into beef, chicken, lamb or prawns for real suya, or turn it on tofu, mushrooms, cauliflower and roast vegetables for a plant based plate with the same big flavour. The rub itself is plant based, so it suits every table.

Rub it on before the grill, or stir it through after. It is the taste of the suya we serve at the market, now for your own kitchen. Selling out fast between batches, join the notify list and we will tell you the moment the next lands.

Frequently asked questions

What is suya spice rub?

Suya is a smoky, nutty West African spice blend, the seasoning behind the famous grilled skewers. Coast of Gold's Suya Spice Rub is traditional on beef, chicken, lamb and prawns, and just as good on tofu, mushrooms and roast vegetables. The blend is plant based and contains peanuts.

Is Coast of Gold shito vegan?

Yes. Every Coast of Gold Shito Pepper Sauce and the Holy Shito jar is plant based, made with vegan Worcestershire, so there is no fish or shrimp, unlike much traditional shito. The Suya Spice Rub is plant based too. All the sauces contain soy, and the suya contains peanuts.

Where is Coast of Gold made?

Coast of Gold is made in Australia from at least 69 per cent Australian ingredients, handmade in small batches. It is a gourmet West African brand founded by Genevieve Muir, sold online and at the Carriageworks Farmers Market in Sydney. The Suya Spice Rub is made in Australia from imported ingredients.
