Holy Shito rates a full 10 out of 10 on Coast of Gold's Scoville scale. It is built on scorpion chilli, one of the hottest chillies in the world, at 4.8 per cent, which makes it hotter than the Hot Shito Pepper Sauce. It keeps the same sweet, smoky base underneath the heat.
When does Holy Shito launch?
Holy Shito is on pre order now and launches on Saturday 1 August 2026, with deliveries from 3 August 2026. It is a small batch, limited run, the cheeky 40g scorpion chilli jar and the centrepiece of the Coast of Gold relaunch. Pre order to secure yours.
Is Coast of Gold gluten free?
The Holy Shito jar is gluten free and preservative free. Across the range, the allergen to note is soy in every Shito Pepper Sauce, and peanuts in the Suya Spice Rub. Coast of Gold does not claim allergen free, since the products genuinely contain these.
